BS 5839 – The Fire Safety Regulations

Fire Detection and Fire Alarm System Standards

This is the code of practice for the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems in every premise. By being compliant with BS 5839, you are ensuring you are fully secure from any faulty alarms, any faulty extinguishers and are in an overall safer working environment.

Many systems can be designed well and installed badly or designed badly from the start which causes problems with fire safety and faulty alarms. For every installation and test, a certificate must be made by a qualified and approved electrician and completed by a qualified supervisor. If this isn’t the case, you might not be insured and you could face even more false alarms.

Contractors like ourselves don’t cut corners and won’t let you spend more than you need to on any installation.
